Dr. Hallums received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Health School of Dentistry in San Antonio. While in dental school, he became intrigued with orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics and knew he wanted to continue his education and training. Dr. Hallums attended Saint Louis University’s Center for Advanced Dental Education and was awarded a Masters of Science in Dentistry and Orthodontics and his Certificate to Practice Orthodontics. He passed the ABO exam in February of 2020 and is a Board Certified Orthodontist.
Dr. Hallums is certified to provide braces and Invisalign® treatment to children, teens, and adults.
Before becoming an orthodontist, Dr. Hallums served three years in the US Army in the Infantry with the 101st Airborne. Dr. Hallum received his undergraduate degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology, then drove a hazmat tank vehicle for 10 years before meeting his wife, Nicole. After getting married, Dr. Hallums decided to pursue a different passion: dentistry.
“Although my path to orthodontics is not traditional, I share the same passion for orthodontics and helping kids achieve perfect smiles as do others for whom orthodontics has been a lifelong dream.” Dr. Hallums said.
While not at the clinic, you will find Dr. Hallums spending time with his wife of 10 years, Nicole, and their three kids, Slader, Deklon, and Aspen. Dr. Hallums enjoys watching college football and Major League baseball, fishing, and playing with his kids.
